Education
The Inspector is responsible for inspecting and measuring products to ensure they meet company and customer quality specifications. This role requires accurate measurement techniques, attention to detail, documentation of inspection results, and collaboration with production teams to maintain quality standards and product throughput. The Inspector also identifies non-conforming products, recommends appropriate rework processes, and supports continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a safe work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect products using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
- Accurately measure all required gage parameters while maintaining daily production goals.
- Determine the appropriate rework process for gages that do not meet required specifications.
- Monitor product conformance and document all non-conforming conditions according to company procedures.
- Record measurement data accurately in spreadsheets and other quality documentation throughout the workday.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and reports.
- Follow all company policies, quality standards, ergonomic guidelines, and safety requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in LEAN manufacturing practices when applicable.
- Work effectively with production personnel, engineers, and other departments to resolve quality concerns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. The omission of specific responsibilities does not exclude other related duties that are similar or logically associated with the position.
- Maintain regular and dependable attendance.
- Report to work on time and remain available throughout the scheduled shift.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, metric measurements, and unit conversions.
- Basic computer proficiency in both Windows and non-Windows operating environments.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel is preferred, including entering and maintaining measurement data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with employees at all organizational levels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, continuous improvement environment.
- Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing principles and waste elimination is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive hand movements.
- Regular use of precision measuring equipment and computers.
- May be required to lift materials or equipment in accordance with company safety guidelines.
- Work performed in a manufacturing environment while following all safety and ergonomic standards.
