Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) provides direct rehabilitative occupational therapy care to patients under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).

Requirements include

• Being NBCOT certified, with optional renewal
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
• Current licensure in the applicable state in good standing
• Preferred experience in post-acute care or related settings
• CPR certification, maintained throughout employment
  
  

Key responsibilities involve implementing treatment plans, charting accurately, utilizing therapy software, and collaborating with patients, families, and team members. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to policies, laws, and regulations. Essential duties include patient care, documenting progress, providing excellent customer service, maintaining safety standards, and functioning effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Physical mobility, communication skills, and a positive attitude are required for success in this role.
