JOB SUMMARY:
Personal Touch Home Care, a National Provider of Medicare home care services since 1974, is seeking a Billing-Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily activities and workload of the Payroll and Billing department to include the Virginia and West Virginia branches. They must provide oversight to ensure the timely and accurate filing of medical claims to insurance companies and payers such as MLTC/MCO, Medicare, Medicaid and other commercial payers. This position is critical for the financial cycle and requires attention to detail as well as a responsibility to the branch’s bottom line.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee workload and daily activities of accounts receivable, payroll and billing for Virginia and West Virginia branches.
2. Reviewing patient bills for accuracy and completeness, and obtaining any missing information, when applicable.
3. Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
4. Following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframes.
5. Monitor accounts for credentialing issues affecting reimbursement and work with provider relations for resolution.
6. Manage and motivate the billing team to analyze and create solutions that enhance the client experience and outcomes.
7. Meet regularly with the billing team to identify weekly and monthly goals as well as review the progress of existing goals.
8. Manage client escalations, when applicable.
9. Implement or assist in the development of process documentation if needed.
10. Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract rates.
11. Calling insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments.
12. Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.
13. Researching and appealing denied claims.
14. Answering all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
15. Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
16. Updating billing software with rate changes, if applicable.
17. Preparing spreadsheets, and running collection reports as applicable.
18. Meet with Administrators to provide accounts receivable feedback.
19. Knowledge of insurance guidelines including MLTC/MCO, Medicare, Medicaid and other payer requirements.
20. Competent use of computer systems and software.
21. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
22. Checking eligibility and benefits verification for services, when applicable.
23. Effective communication abilities with insurance payers to resolve issues.
24. Customer service skills for interacting with patients regarding medical claims and payments, including communicating with patients and family members.
25. Ability to work well in a team environment with effective leadership abililties
26. Being able to triage priorities, delegate tasks if needed, and handle conflict in a reasonable fashion.
27. Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
28. Ability to multitask is a must
29. Perform any other duties as assigned by Regional Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma, college degree preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems
- Knowledge of business and accounting processes and data analysis
- A minimum of one to three years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and decision-making ability
