What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nanny/Family Helper position at Personal Family Nanny/Family Helper?
Part-Time Nanny / Family Helper — Phoenix Area
$25–$28/hour based on experience | Approximately 20–30 hours per week
We’re a busy family of six children looking for a dependable, patient, and organized nanny to help with morning routines, transportation, and afternoon care as Mom returns to nursing.
Our children attend school, ABA, daycare, and extracurricular activities, so you will not have all six children with you throughout the day. Our youngest will attend daycare.
Schedule
This position involves split shifts, generally:
- Morning blocks of approximately 6–9 a.m., about three days per week.
- Afternoon blocks of approximately 2–5 or 6 p.m., about three to four days per week.
- Some Mondays may require a longer daytime block, including care for our 9-year-old while four siblings attend ABA from 9 a.m.–1 p.m.
Days will vary around Mom’s nursing schedule. We’ll coordinate hours in advance, ideally around each six-week work schedule. Initial needs may differ during day-shift training.
Responsibilities
- Help children get ready and prepare simple breakfasts, lunch or snacks.
- Drive children to and from school in Mesa, ABA, daycare, and activities.
- Provide attentive care while Mom sleeps after overnight shifts.
- Help with homework and planned activities, especially on Mondays.
- Handle Monday dance and rock-climbing transportation. These are drop-off activities located approximately five minutes apart.
- Help children tidy up after meals and activities.
Who we’re looking for
- Experience caring for multiple children.
- A calm, patient approach; experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or different learning needs is strongly preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record, and comfortable driving a 15 passenger van.
- Dependability with early starts and scheduled pickups.
- CPR/first-aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
- Willingness to provide references and complete background screening.
Transportation arrangements and any applicable mileage reimbursement will be discussed before hiring.
To apply: Please send a brief introduction, your childcare experience, availability for morning and afternoon shifts, desired hourly rate, and references. Please include any experience supporting neurodivergent children.
We’re hoping to find someone who will become a trusted, consistent part of our children’s routine!
