What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Tech position at Personal Enrichment Through Mental Health Services Inc?
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent with one year of proven work experience, preferably in mental health or related setting. Personnel currently employed at PEMHS may move into the position with 6 months work experience and supervisory recommendation.
Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, lift a minimum of 50#, stretch, lower and raise self from floor independently. Ability to hear and see in emergency situations. Must be able to pass NAPPI training and perform NAPPI techniques.
Job Function: Responsible for assisting with daily programming as directed by the Director, the Program Manager, the Charge Nurse and the Milieu Specialist. Spends individual time with consumers. Assists and/or provides selected group activities, and promoting a positive, reinforcing environment for children and/or adults served in the program.
Special Working Conditions: Exposure to all program conditions which may include physical intervention and verbal abuse by consumers. Work hours include weekends and may include extended hours when the need arises.
