Music Therapist – Part-Time Personal Counseling Services, Inc. | Clarksville, IN
Job Type: Part-time, with potential to grow to full-time
Reports To: Director of Music Therapy
About the Role The Music Therapist provides individual and group therapy, participates as a member of the clinical staff team, takes part in staffing and case conferences, handles necessary administrative tasks, and helps market the Center's services. The Music Therapist maintains an attitude and manner consistent with the Center's mission statement.
What You'll Do
Music Therapy
- Provide individual and group music therapy sessions
- Maintain the number of clinical hours as contracted
- Represent the standards and practices of music therapy in accordance with the Agency's mission and the American Music Therapy Association's code of professional ethics
- Maintain clinical records in accordance with professional and Center guidelines
- Work with the administrative team to resolve client and collection issues
- Abide by American Music Therapy Association standards of clinical practice
- Opportunity to work with populations beyond those currently served
- Maintain a minimum of 100 CEUs every 5 years
Clinical Staff Participation
- Work cooperatively with staff, colleagues, consultants, and referring professionals
- Actively participate in bi-monthly clinical staff meetings and case consultations
- Attend administrative staff meetings, events, health fairs, staff retreats, certification reviews, and team-building activities
- Participate in monthly supervision with direct supervisor
Agency Administration & Development
- Help develop the music therapy department's community relations and referral network
- Perform administrative and development tasks as assigned
- Support Center fundraising functions and public relations initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in music therapy from an accredited college or university (required)
- Clinical training and experience appropriate to the role
- Board Certified Music Therapist (required)
- CPR/First Aid certification required
- 1 year of music therapy experience preferred
Details
- At least 5 individual clients and several school groups available upon start
- Pay based on fees collected
- Choose your own hours, day shift
- Travel 1–2 days per week within 50 miles of the Clarksville office
