What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA Supervsior position at Personal Care Assistance?
PCA Supervisor serve as a resource for the client, responsible party (RP) and PCA on appropriate program use and other services to help meet the health and safety needs for the client in the community. The QP will assist in training, supervision and evaluation of services, as well as ensuring quality assurance of the PCA services.
- Conduct home visits, assess needs and develop care plan in compliance with DHS guidelines.
- Monitor and document service delivery according to agency documentation guidelines and standards.
- Be comfortable working with a variety of people in a variety of settings and communities.
- Be knowledgeable of general medical diagnoses and appropriate care for clients with various diagnoses.
- Communicate with clients, PCAs and collaborating staff as needed for quality care of the client.
- Maintain knowledge of DHS regulations and Accra policies and procedures regarding PCA services.
- Participate in agency and community trainings.
- Assist in supervision of PCA staff as requested.
Requirements
- Minimum two-year degree and two years of direct care experience.
- For Licensed Social Workers - maintain current Social Work license.
- Demonstrated knowledge of services needed by people with disabilities and the elderly in Minnesota.
- Demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Able to affect change and demonstrate positive leadership.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of federal and state statutes applicable to services for people with disabilities and the elderly in Minnesota.
- Must possess intellectual strength and have a keen understanding of internal systems needed to support services.
- Must pass a background study with the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
- Have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to use for work driving purposes.
