Job Summary
The Hidden Valley Market is looking for an experienced barista to join their close-knit team. We are a new grab n go/prepared food establishment with a sister location in Cornwall Bridge CT.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and flair
- Engage with customers warmly, providing outstanding customer service and product recommendations
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS efficiently for order processing and cash handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and seating areas
- Follow food safety standards and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and safety
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining accuracy in transactions
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including assembling food items and restocking supplies as needed
Experience
- Prior barista experience or background in coffee service preferred; familiarity with café operations highly valued
- Experience using POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and positively with diverse guests
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, food handling, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently during high-volume periods in a retail or food industry environment
- Experience in serving or food preparation roles that require attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
