Responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and work areas to meet sanitation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and prep work under supervision
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and ensuring dining areas are clean and organized
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers and manual handling tools
- Follow proper food handling practices to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety management compliance
- Adhere to all kitchen health and safety standards, including sanitation protocols and heavy lifting procedures
Skills
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on sanitation and cleanliness
- Knowledge of food safety principles and sanitizing procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting of dishware and supplies
- Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when required
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and cleaning tools
