Summary: Responsibilities: Work under supervision of Manager, Controls Engineering to develop advanced control systems for robotic manipulators and similar electromechanical systems, including motion control and servo tuning, development of dynamic models, modeling and simulations in MATLAB, and implementation of software on real-time platforms. The responsibilities also include controls-related machine design analysis and selection of actuators, sensors and other controls-related components. Limited travel within and outside the US.

Essential Skills
B.S degree in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic or similar engineering field, with 2 years of minimum work experience.
M.S./Ph.D. degree in Computer, Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautic or similar engineering field, with 0 to 1 year of work experience.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $100k to $170k. The actual pay offered will be determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, skills, job-related knowledge, internal equity, and geographical location.

Essential Skills
- Skilled in general mathematical modeling and analysis.
- Familiarity with dynamic system modeling, motion control algorithms and control systems theory (PID, feedforward).
- Hands on experience with control systems, filter design and tuning.
- Proficient in MATLAB.
- Experience in C, C programming for Linux and for embedded systems.
- Some experience in using microcontrollers and sensors, prototyping and troubleshooting.
- State estimation and system identification (model based and data based).
- Theoretical background and experience in electrical and electronic system design.
- Experience in digital and analog circuit design, embedded systems, interfacing with microcontrollers, power electronics design, and motion control.
- Thermal modeling and analysis.
- Lab skills, including soldering components, and rework of PCBAs.
