Perryman Auto Repair is looking for a dependable, skilled, and motivated Automotive Technician to join our team.
As an independent repair shop, we work on a wide variety of makes and models and perform everything from routine maintenance to advanced diagnostics and major repairs. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in their work, can diagnose problems accurately, and wants to be part of a growing shop.
The right candidate will be honest, productive, organized, and committed to performing quality repairs the first time.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns accurately.
- Perform general automotive repairs and maintenance on a variety of makes and models.
- Perform brake, steering, and suspension repairs.
- Diagnose check engine lights and other warning lights.
- Diagnose starting, charging, and battery concerns.
- Perform cooling system and A/C diagnosis and repairs.
- Perform engine and drivetrain repairs as experience allows.
- Read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Use scan tools, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools properly.
- Perform oil changes, fluid services, inspections, and scheduled maintenance.
- Complete thorough vehicle inspections and document recommended repairs.
- Perform test drives before and after repairs when necessary.
- Keep your work area and shop equipment clean and organized.
- Communicate clearly with the service advisor regarding diagnostic findings, repair recommendations, and additional concerns.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Follow shop procedures and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous professional automotive repair experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work on multiple makes and models.
- Ability to perform repairs correctly and efficiently.
- Diagnostic and electrical experience is a strong plus.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and service information.
- Must have your own basic automotive tools.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work well with a team.
- Must take pride in providing safe, quality repairs.
