Part-time hours are either 8:00-12:30 or 12:30-5:30

Duties

• Develop and implement engaging curriculum plans tailored to preschool-aged children, incorporating elements of literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that encourages curiosity and active participation among children.
• Manage daily classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and effective behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions.
• Conduct assessments of children's developmental progress through observations and standardized testing when appropriate; use findings to adapt lesson plans and support individual learning needs.
• Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by applying appropriate instructional strategies and collaborating with specialists.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through regular updates and meetings.
• Ensure compliance with childcare regulations, health standards, and safety protocols at all times.
• Prepare educational materials, lesson plans, and activities that align with curriculum standards and promote holistic childhood development.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities related to childhood education, classroom management, and childcare best practices.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education methodologies such as Montessori or preschool curricula.
• Experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; familiarity with toddler care is a plus.
• Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
• Ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with parents, colleagues, and children alike.
• Experience with literacy education strategies, math instruction, teaching physical education, and implementing standardized testing when necessary.
• Knowledge of child welfare practices ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in the classroom environment.
• Familiarity with classroom experience in private schools or daycare centers is advantageous.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches for different age groups within the preschool spectrum (including toddlers).
