Job Description
- Division: Facility & Office Supplies & Equipment
- Reports To: Distribution & Purchasing Manager
- FSLA Status: Exempt (Salary)
- Location: Temple, Texas, Warehouse
- Hours: Start time is 6:30 AM August through May and 7:00 AM June and July. Standard 8-hour workdays with flexibility to work occasional overtime when necessary.
Job Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, delivery coordination, and staff supervision. This role ensures efficient routing, timely shipments, and high operational standards while supporting drivers, customer service, and sales teams throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities
- Open warehouse daily and ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Review delivery routes daily and adjust schedules as needed for efficiency
- Run driver manifests and invoices each morning
- Manage and resolve issues involving drivers, customer service, and sales throughout the day
- Receive shipments throughout the day
- Research and resolve inventory discrepancies including shortages, overages, and mis-pulls
- Monitor BC/SC orders and perform manual verification for special delivery orders
- Report shortages internally
- Investigate discrepancies using warehouse camera systems
- Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and oversee UPS operations
- Supervise UPS processing, including WorldShip usage, order review, and discrepancy resolution
- Order warehouse supplies and maintain equipment
- Schedule vehicle maintenance and repairs as needed
- Ensure warehouse/dock cleanliness and organization standards are maintained
- Conduct forklift, walkie stacker, and electric pallet jack training’
- Ensure warehouse meets OSHA standards and complete monthly checklist
- Hold monthly staff meetings and communicate operational updates
- Review applications, interview candidates, and support hiring decisions
- Approve timecards, manage PTO, and oversee employee scheduling
- Monitor internal and external communications (email, systems)
- Manage pallet disposal and general warehouse upkeep
- Perform all duties of the Assistant Supervisor as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous warehouse supervisory or logistics experience required
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience with warehouse and shipping systems (DAX, UPS WorldShip, Sparco platforms preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrates strong technology proficiency and embraces new systems and processes. Serves as a resource for warehouse employees and drivers by helping them effectively utilize warehouse technology, handheld devices, communication tools, and company software.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and perform physical warehouse tasks daily
Work Schedule & Environment
Full-time, Monday through Friday
Work performed primarily in a warehouse environment with frequent physical activity
