PAY GRADE:

$16.33/Hour – Probationary Rate

$16.66/Hour – After Probation

HOURS OF OPERATION:

Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 6:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday: Closed

SUPERVISOR: Transit Supervisor

CLASSIFICATION PURPOSE:

The Office Associate plays a key role in the daily operations of Perry County Transit (PCT), ensuring efficient scheduling, communication, and coordination of transit services. This position requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

OFFICE ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUITES:

· Technology & Systems

o Operate and maintain communication systems, including MARCS radios, CBTS, and other call center equipment.

o Utilize computers and tablets for daily operational tasks.

o Demonstrate advanced knowledge of computer programs and software relevant to transit operations.

o Operate Ecolane or similar systems for:

§ Scheduling and assigning runs

§ Entering and reviewing trips

§ Verifying charges

§ Generating and reviewing reports

o Use additional programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and mapping applications as assigned.

· Operations

o Schedule and assign trips according to available resources and service needs.

o Create and adjust routes to maximize efficiency.

o Monitor scheduling systems in real time and reassign trips as necessary.

o Maintain accurate records and organized files.

o Ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements.

· Dispatching

o Perform real-time radio dispatching and logistics coordination.

o Maintain accurate daily balance sheets and documentation.

o Record and report all incidents promptly and accurately.

o Contract Monitoring & Administrative Duties

o Assist with invoicing, collections, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

o Review reports and verify data accuracy for financial and operational tracking.

· Communication Skills

o Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.

o Provide exceptional customer service and utilize de-escalation techniques when necessary.

o Prepare reports and participate in public speaking or presentations as assigned.

o Communicate effectively with staff, partners, and the public.

LICENSING & COMPLIANCE

· Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Provide an abstract of driving record and report any violations as they occur.

· Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing prior to hire and comply with random testing throughout employment.

· Complete an annual physical examination.

· Adhere to all State of Ohio motor vehicle laws, safety regulations, and PCT operational procedures.

OFFICE ASSOCIATE QUALIFICATIONS

Any equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience may be considered, including but not limited to:

· High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in business, logistics, or transportation preferred.

· Minimum of two (2) years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, or administrative support—preferably in a transit or transportation setting.

· Proficiency with computer systems, scheduling software, and radio communication equipment.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in real time.

· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

· Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.

· Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and public service.

· Ability to work in various weather and environmental conditions, as needed.

Pay: From $16.33 per hour
