For over 45 years, Perrone Construction has delivered some of Sarasota's most distinctive, architecturally designed custom homes. Our projects range from 4,000 to over 20,000 square feet and are defined by craftsmanship, precision, and an uncompromising client experience.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Assistant Estimator/Purchaser to support our Senior Estimator and play a key role in preconstruction and procurement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to grow within a high-performing custom home builder.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Estimator/Purchaser, you will support the estimating and purchasing process from concept through construction:

Estimating & Preconstruction

• Assist in developing accurate, well-organized cost estimates
• Perform quantity take-offs from plans and specifications
• Support value engineering efforts through detailed cost comparisons
• Price owner selections, upgrades, and scope changes
  
  

Purchasing & Contracts

• Prepare and issue subcontracts and purchase orders
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor/vendor bids
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with subcontractors and suppliers
  
  

Project Support

• Track and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure pricing accuracy and alignment with project budgets
• Collaborate with internal teams to maintain project flow and cost control
  
  

Core Qualifications

What We're Looking For

• 2-3 years of experience in residential construction estimating, purchasing, or related field
• OR recent graduate with a degree in Construction Management or similar are encouraged to apply
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Familiarity with tools such as Sage 100 Contractor, Procore, Bluebeam, or OnScreen Takeoff
• Experience working with custom or luxury residential projects
• Exposure to subcontractor bidding and procurement processes

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 (commensurate with experience)

Location Requirement: Candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Sarasota or Manatee County, FL.
