Commercial Carpenter & Door Installer (DoD Projects)Location: San Diego, Naval Base Point LomaJob Type: Full-TimeCompany: Permon Contractors IncPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Commercial Carpenter & Door Installer to join our team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial carpentry, metal framing, hollow metal and wood door installation, hardware installation, and working on federal or military construction sites.This position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict project specifications and security requirements.ResponsibilitiesInstall commercial wood and hollow metal doors and framesInstall door hardware including panic devices, closers, locksets, and access control prepRead and interpret blueprints, specifications, and submittalsPerform finish carpentry and rough carpentry tasks as neededEnsure installations meet project specifications and DoD quality standardsMaintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with OSHA standardsCoordinate with project managers, superintendents, and other tradesTroubleshoot and adjust doors and hardware for proper operationQualifications3 years of commercial carpentry experience2 years of commercial door and hardware installation experience preferredExperience working on federal or military (DoD) projects highly preferredAbility to read construction documents and door/hardware schedulesFamiliarity with hollow metal frames, wood doors, and commercial hardwareStrong attention to detail and quality workmanshipReliable transportation and valid driver’s licenseAbility to pass background check; ability to obtain base access (if required)Preferred QualificationsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationExperience with access control hardware prepExperience with SCIF or high-security installationsPrior clearance or ability to obtain security clearance (if required)Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 75 lbsAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and work overheadAbility to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditionsCompensation & BenefitsDavis Bacon Wage Rates by project/contractHealth insurance401(k) (if applicable)Career growth opportunities within federal construction projects
