Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and other critical equipment to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with electrical controls, AC/DC power supplies, motors, and industrial machinery while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical & Controls Maintenance:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical controls and PLC systems to ensure efficient plant operations.
  • Perform programming and troubleshooting of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) for optimized machine performance.
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC power supplies, addressing voltage fluctuations and failures.
  • Conduct testing and inspection of electric motors to identify faults and perform necessary repairs.
  • Utilize a multimeter for diagnosing electrical issues, ensuring accuracy in testing circuits, power supplies, and components.
  • Troubleshoot relays and contactors, replacing or repairing components as needed.
  • Safely work with 480V and lower voltages, adhering to electrical safety standards and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Preventive & Reactive Maintenance:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize disruptions and improve equipment reliability.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, including repairs, inspections, and part replacements.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Follow all OSHA, NFPA, and facility safety protocols, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and standards.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow proper procedures when working with high-voltage systems.
  • Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace safety.

Additional Duties:

  • Assist in machine installations, upgrades, and modifications as needed.
  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other technicians to support production goals.
  • Stay updated on emerging electrical and automation technologies to enhance efficiency and performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or technical certification in electrical maintenance, industrial automation, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, electrical controls, VFD programming, and motor diagnostics.
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electrical diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Understanding of industrial safety regulations and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, bend, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and work in confined spaces or elevated areas.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
