What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinic Technician position at Permian Basin Reability Center?
Job purpose
The Clinic Technician has responsibilities which include, but are not limited to, assisting with set-up for evaluations and treatment, disinfecting and organizing therapy areas and supplies, assisting with transferring patients, and clerical duties as assigned. They also assist with PT, OT, and ST as needed. Reports directly to the Clinic Director.
Duties and responsibilities
· Complete clinic cleaning, organizing, and infection control duties
· Complete clerical/filing duties as assigned by Clinic Director
· Assist with set-up, implementation, and clean-up of clinics (example: Developmental Clinic, Cleft Palate clinic, and any newly established clinics)
· Set-up and clean up treatment and evaluation rooms, set-up for feeding therapy, and assist with setting up for meetings
· Order and stock linens throughout the clinic
· Take and record measurements and perform cleaning for hydrocollator and paraffin bath
· Assist treating therapists with treatment activities and patient transfers as needed
· Assist with translation for therapists and staff as needed (if bilingual)
· Function effectively as a team member in the clinic and in the Center
· Communicate effectively with patients, families, and health care team members
· Maintain professional conduct and adhere to standards set forth in the Permian Basin Reability Center Policies and Procedures Manual
· Follow and maintain procedures set forth in the Safety Manual regarding safety and infection control
· Comply with and adhere to all HIPAA regulations outlined by Permian Basin Reability Center
· Perform all other duties as assigned by the Clinic Director.
Qualifications
· Ability to read clients’ medical records and Center policies and procedures
· Effectively communicate in a polite and professional manner with patients, volunteers, and staff
· Push/pull/lift 70 pounds to perform solo patient transfers, and participate in two-man lift of patients who cannot assist and weigh up to 150 pounds
· Lift with extremities up to 35 pounds
· Stand for up to 20 minutes duration
· Bilingual preferred but not required
Working conditions
This job requires tasks that could involve light to moderate lifting and exposure to blood and other bodily fluids, or chemicals.
Physical requirements
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to get up/down from the floor and stand for up to 20 minutes at a time.
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
