The General Manager is responsible for the development and growth of Midwest Perma-Column. This position will oversee all aspects of the business, ensuring operational excellence, including monitoring and measuring performance in areas such as revenue, sales, safety, quality, profitability, efficiency, and customer service.

Essential Functions
- Manages the overall operations of Midwest Perma-Column, providing leadership in the areas of manufacturing, finance, sales, marketing and serving as a key member in setting the company’s overall strategic direction.
- Develops and implements plans to grow the company and achieve established objectives; creating and monitoring relevant KPIs and aligning goals with a pipeline development process to grow market revenue.
- Primarily responsible for revenue generation, the General Manager acts as the sales leader for the organization by developing sales initiatives and implementing them through a team of Territory Sales Representatives; providing in-field support and coaching best practices; directly engaging with high-potential and high-value accounts to secure future business.
- Serves as a safety advocate for promoting and maintaining a safe and conducive work environment for all employee owners and customers.
- Collaborates with the Sales Channel Development Manager to determine market potential and expand marketing techniques and strategies; building strong external relationships to influence channel partners and drive increasing sales.
- Develops and manages the annual budget targets, driving sales and operational profitability through the monitoring of company performance, customer satisfaction, and safety.
- Coordinates interactions between Midwest Perma-Column and Perma-Column LLC, keeping the company President adequately informed of all aspects of the business.
- Represents the company at key industry events and functions, traveling as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all Perma-Column policies and procedures, promoting and monitoring sound hiring practices in compliance with corporate procedures: assessing risk and approving all deviations from corporate procedures.
- Develop and maintain a culture of teamwork, employee ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 6 years of experience in general management and sales or a combination of education and experience
- Understanding of the Building Products industry and the dynamics of effective selling through the Lumberyard channel
- Ability and understanding of managing a P&L and creating and monitoring relevant KPIs
- Strong business, financial analysis, and project management skills
- Experience in demand forecasting, inventory management, and scheduling
- Ability to promote teamwork and demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with executive-level customers and partners
- Ability to speak effectively before groups and customers
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
