The Perkiomen Valley School District is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to serve as a Food Service Cafeteria Manager at Middle School East beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for managing the daily operation of the school kitchen and cafeteria, including breakfast and lunch service, food preparation, inventory management, recordkeeping, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision.
The successful candidate will oversee Food Service Assistants and Cooks, coordinate daily food production and service, maintain food safety and sanitation standards, manage inventory and ordering processes, and ensure compliance with USDA requirements, Smart Snacks regulations, and local health department guidelines. The position also supports catering events and district-wide food production activities as assigned.

Location: Middle School East
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month
Starting Rate: $22.19 per hour (2025-2026 rate)

Education, Training, and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in food preparation, quantity food production, and food service management
- Supervisory experience in food service operations, required
- Experience in a school nutrition program, preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Food Service Cafeteria Manager must possess knowledge of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, Smart Snacks regulations, USDA requirements, applicable local health regulations, food safety and sanitation practices, quantity food production methods, quality food preparation techniques, inventory management procedures, food cost control practices, and commercial kitchen equipment operation and safety. The position requires knowledge of principles of organization, supervision, and staff training. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to coordinate, supervise, direct, and train food service staff; establish priorities and manage multiple responsibilities effectively; maintain accurate records and reports; and exercise sound judgment in daily operations. Strong organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to interact professionally with students, staff, parents/guardians, vendors, and community members using tact, patience, and courtesy. The position also requires proficiency in computer applications, including Google Workspace and food service management software.

Compensation
The starting salary will be determined as outlined in the Maintenance, Custodial, and Food Service Collective Bargaining Agreement.
