Job Summary
The Head Coach of the Youth Swim Program is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and daily operation of a comprehensive developmental swim program. This position oversees coaching staff, ensures athlete safety and progress, and fosters an environment that promotes teamwork, confidence, and respect both in and out of the pool.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership:
- Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the youth swim program, including skill development, conditioning, and competition preparation.
- Coaching & Instruction:
Provide high-quality coaching to swimmers of all ages and skill levels; develop progressive training plans that align with individual and team goals.
- Staff Supervision:
Recruit, train, schedule, and evaluate assistant coaches and instructors; maintain a positive and professional coaching culture. Ensure adherence to all American Red Cross, USA Swimming, and facility safety standards; maintain certifications and emergency readiness. Manage team communications, scheduling, meet entries; coordinate with parents, facility staff, and board members. Create a supportive environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, personal growth.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of coaching experience with progressive leadership responsibilities in youth swimming.
- Current USA Swimming Coach Certification (or equivalent) required.
- Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications required (WSI preferred).
- Strong knowledge of stroke technique, training progression, and age-appropriate athlete development.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to motivate youth athletes.
- Proven ability to manage staff and coordinate large groups effectively.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with meet management software.
- Demonstrated success in building or expanding youth aquatics programs.

Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per year
