Teacher of the Visually Impaired
We are committed to delivering best-in-class education to children with disabilities at Perkins, an international NGO. As a Teacher of the Visually Impaired, you will provide direct and consultative vision services to students and their teachers on our Watertown campus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct student assessments, develop individual education plans, and provide consultation to education professionals.
- Prepare lessons and materials for each student, maintain professional credentials, and handle paperwork associated with evaluations, contract services, and reports.
- Utilize objective criteria to assess student progress, report quarterly, and participate in program planning meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field, Master's Degree preferred.
- DESE certified TVI and First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work well as part of a team, and maintain confidentiality.
