The Opportunity

Perkins Eastman has an immediate need for an Architectural Designer for our Washington DC office. We are seeking dedicated, passionate team members with strong individual design and problem-solving skills for immediate opportunities as a Designer. This position requires the candidates to support project teams and produce presentations and documentation suitable for the Perkins Eastman team and clients.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Project Manager and team leaders responsible for the individual project, the Designer will be responsible for assisting in all project phases, project sizes and typologies.
• Under the supervision of team leaders, prepare program and schematic design studies, proposal, project layouts and develop designs in 3D using Revit or other 3D modeling software for client review/approval.
• Assist with design development, learning the details and process of documenting design.
• Assist with preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors to use as roadmap in construction.
• Review building codes to ensure that design complies with the minimum legal standards.
• Assist in the constructions administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals.
• Prepare finished material sample boards, physical models, and graphic presentations for client approval.
• Assist the design team on projects from the Pre-Schematic Phase through Construction Documents.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
• Minimum 0 to 3 years of experience required
• Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts to their team.
• Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
• Proficiency with Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Rhino, SketchUp and other related design software is a plus.

PE has a hybrid policy that allows flexibility for our employees in managing their working days and hours to cater to their diverse needs.

Salary Range: $67k to $73k

Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographical work location.
