What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Superindendent - Ground-Up Commercial Construction position at Perkins Construction (Nashville, TN)?
Senior Superintendent - Ground-Up Commercial Construction
Target: 10 years, ground-up projects
Perkins Construction | Nashville, TN | Full-Time
Perkins Construction is looking for a senior superintendent who has built real things from the ground up and has the scars and judgment to prove it. This is a leadership role. You'll be trusted to run complex projects independently and help set the field standard for our growing team.
What You'll Do
You own the project from site mobilization to certificate of occupancy. You'll lead subcontractors, interface with owners and design teams, protect schedule and quality, and operate without needing to be managed.
- Lead all field operations on ground-up commercial construction projects
- Build, maintain, and recover project schedules - you understand sequencing, not just dates
- Manage subcontractor performance with authority: scope, schedule, quality, and safety
- Run a safe job site; own the safety program and hold everyone to it
- Coordinate with project managers on cost, RFIs, submittals, and change order field documentation
- Represent Perkins professionally with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors
- Mentor junior site staff; help build a field culture of accountability and craftsmanship
- Drive punch list and close-out to completion with the same urgency as mobilization
What You Bring
- 10 years of commercial construction field experience, with significant ground-up project history
- Deep knowledge of construction means and methods across multiple trades
- Proven ability to run projects from dirt to occupancy - on schedule, on budget, without drama
- Strong subcontractor relationships and the respect that comes from knowing what you're talking about
- Clear communicator with owners and design teams - professional, direct, and solution-oriented
- Leadership presence; the kind of superintendent that crews and subs want to work for
- Familiarity with scheduling software (Procore, RedTeam or similar)
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary: $95,000–$125,000 depending on experience
- Company truck or truck allowance
- Fuel card
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Performance-based bonus
- Genuine leadership opportunity in a growing boutique GC
- Direct access to company leadership - your voice matters here
This is not a role where you'll disappear into a large company. You'll be known, trusted, and challenged.
