Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialty drinks, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash register operations, including processing cash transactions and giving correct change with precision
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas to uphold food safety standards
- Assist customers with menu inquiries, product recommendations, and general questions to enhance their experience
- Support food handling and preparation tasks in accordance with food safety guidelines
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or coffee shops is preferred but not required; a passion for customer service is essential
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square is highly desirable
- Strong skills in retail math, basic math, cash handling, and processing cash transactions accurately
- Knowledge of beverage service, drink preparation, and food safety practices within the food industry
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to serve customers warmly and professionally
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform light cleaning duties, and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key
