Peritia is currently seeking an Associate Consultant to support our growing project controls, scheduling, estimating, and construction consulting practice. This position may be based in either our Houston, Texas office or Austin, Texas office.

As an Associate Consultant at Peritia, you are expected to be analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work products within required time frames. Within the project controls realm, you will assist with the development, review, and analysis of project schedules, cost estimates, project controls reports, change orders, and construction project documentation.

This role will include both proactive project controls support and forensic consulting support. On active projects, you may assist clients with scheduling, schedule updates, cost tracking, estimating, change management, and project reporting. On the forensic and claims side, you may review and analyze documents such as contracts, schedules, estimates, daily reports, change orders, RFIs, meeting minutes, correspondence, and cost records to identify relevant project issues and assist in the evaluation or resolution of claims.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·      Assist with the development, update, review, and QA/QC of CPM schedules, including baseline schedules, forecast schedules, progress updates, logic, sequencing, constraints, milestones, critical path, longest path, and near-longest path analysis.

·      Support schedule-related project controls efforts, including pull planning, look-ahead schedules, time impact analyses, impact tracking, schedule forecasting, risk identification, and communication of schedule findings and solutions.

·      Review and analyze project cost control documents, quantity takeoffs, estimates, budgets, change orders, labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, indirect costs, productivity, cost impacts, and damages.

·      Compile, organize, and analyze project records, including contracts, drawings, specifications, schedules, daily reports, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, change orders, correspondence, and other project documentation.

·      Assist with forensic delay analysis and claims support using recognized industry methodologies, including AACE RP 29R-03.

·      Prepare clear, organized, and well-supported work products, exhibits, reports, and presentations for internal teams, clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.

·      Work collaboratively with Peritia consultants, clients, contractors, and project teams while supporting multiple assignments with accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.

·      1–5 years of relevant experience in project controls, scheduling, estimating, construction management, construction consulting, or related project delivery roles.

·      Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.

·      Experience or exposure to CPM scheduling.

·      Experience or exposure to cost estimating, cost control, quantity takeoffs, or change order review.

·      Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving ability, and written communication skills.

·      Ability to remain calm under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple assignments.

·      Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

·      Ability to review, organize, and analyze large volumes of project documentation.

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

·      Experience with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Oracle Primavera Cloud is preferred.

·      Experience with estimating tools, Bluebeam, RS Means, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms is preferred.

·      Experience or exposure to forensic consulting, claims, or dispute-related work is preferred.

·      Experience in commercial, industrial, infrastructure, energy, healthcare, hospitality, multi-family, or institutional projects is preferred.

·      Interest in developing a career in construction consulting, project controls, claims analysis, and dispute resolution.

·      Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Peritia is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.

This position may be based in either Peritia’s Houston, Texas office or Austin, Texas office. Some travel to project sites, client offices, or other Peritia offices may be required depending on project needs.
