Sr. Electronic Security Technician

Tusco’s Electronic Security division is looking for an experienced Senior Electronic Security Technician to join our team in Madison, Alabama.

This is a hands-on field leadership opportunity for an experienced electronic security professional who knows access control, CCTV, intrusion, and low-voltage systems - and is ready to take ownership in the field while helping develop the technicians around them.

As a Senior Electronic Security Technician, you’ll lead day-to-day work at assigned project sites, serve as a key point of contact between our customers and Operations team, and help ensure our electronic security systems are installed, programmed, tested, and delivered safely, efficiently, and to Tusco’s standards.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the installation, termination, testing, programming, and troubleshooting of Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, and related electronic security systems
• Lead low-voltage cabling installations and the buildout of communications closets
• Read and interpret architectural prints, shop drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
• Work with DC voltage principles, relay logic, networking, and IP-based devices
• Lead and train Electronic Security Technicians in the field
• Ensure installations meet Tusco, customer, industry, and OSHA standards
• Coordinate with Project and Operations Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget
• Serve as an onsite point of contact for customers and Operations
• Work on commercial, government, federal, and military project sites
• Maintain company tools, equipment, and assigned vehicle

Because our technicians work on active commercial and government project sites, you’ll need to be comfortable working in a variety of field environments - including outdoors in changing weather conditions, at heights, and in communications closets, attics, crawlspaces, and other confined spaces.

You will be provided a company vehicle, and this position requires a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

What does travel look like?

• This position is based in Madison, AL and is primarily field-based. Travel to project sites is required based on project needs, including occasional overnight travel during the workweek. Weekend work may be required on rare occasions.

The technical experience we’re looking for:

• 4 years of experience with access control, low-voltage cabling, CCTV, intrusion systems, or related electronic security systems
• Strong understanding of DC voltage principles and relay logic
• Understanding of NFPA 101 and electronic access control systems
• Ability to read and interpret prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications
• Working knowledge of networking and IP-based devices
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead, train, and share technical knowledge with other field technicians
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Experience with security platforms and hardware such as C-CURE 9000, Gallagher Command Centre, Mercury Security, Lenel OnGuard, Genetec Security Center, Avigilon ACM, Lifesafety Power, and ALTRONIX is especially valuable.

AESBL or comparable industry/manufacturer certifications - including NICET, C-CURE, Lenel, Genetec, or Milestone - are preferred but not required.
