Perimeter Security Partners (PSP) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of a soon-to-be-acquired business located in Nassau County, Long Island, New York (North Shore) with annual revenues of $5–10 million.
This role is ideal for a highly motivated self-starter who excels in a hands-on, high-responsibility environment and enjoys working independently within a rapidly growing small business. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the company’s financial records and work closely with PSP’s Brentwood/Nashville-based Accounting and Finance team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial support.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage all company financial records
- Record and oversee all journal entries
- Transition the accounting system from cash basis to accrual basis
- Implement job-level revenue recognition and cost accounting practices
- Support the transition of customer relationships from project-based to recurring service agreements
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Assist with payroll processing
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Track employee expenses and manage the reimbursement process for field technicians
- Complete monthly financial closings
- Prepare internal financial statements and schedules for consolidation into parent company financials
- Assist in preparing reports for senior management, lenders, and private equity partners
- Support audits and tax filings, coordinating with external accountants as needed
- Participate in the transition to Acumatica ERP, including learning the system and supporting a smooth migration from QuickBooks
- Manage company billing activities
- Prepare and submit monthly sales tax reports and payments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or progress toward CPA designation is a plus
- Minimum 5 years’ full-charge bookkeeping experience in a small to mid-sized company
- Proficiency with QuickBooks is required
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formula knowledge, data manipulation, reconciliation, financial reporting)
- Experience with job-level/project-based accounting
- Familiarity with revenue recognition principles, cost allocation and accrual accounting
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a new ERP system (Acumatica experience a plus)
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
