What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Perikin Enterprises LLC?
PERIKIN Enterprises is seeking a technically-minded Project Coordinator to perform on-site construction oversight, quality assurance, and guidance for a variety of construction projects in Tullahoma, TN. Unlike a traditional project coordinator, this role is field-heavy. You will monitor various construction jobs to ensure contractors are installing systems according to design drawings, manage site de-confliction between multiple trades, and provide critical daily reporting to leadership to ensure mission readiness. This position is in support of PERIKIN’s contracts to provide engineering services; program, project, financial, and information management; and administrative support to our Government Customers.
This position is currently eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
- Technical Surveillance: Monitor daily construction activities across multiple project sites to ensure contractor installations align strictly with design drawings, specifications, and customer standards.
- Quality Inspections: Perform field inspections of structural, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), and civil systems. Identify deficiencies early and document non-conforming work.
- Site De-confliction: Coordinate and de-conflict work areas where multiple contractors or trades are operating simultaneously. Ensure safety and logistical harmony in shared footprints.
- Field Documentation: Capture high-quality photographs of daily progress, specifically focusing on "covered work" (installations that will be hidden by walls or earth) to ensure long-term accountability.
- Daily Field Reporting: Prepare detailed daily and weekly reports documenting manpower, equipment on-site, work completed, and any deviations from the project schedule or safety plan.
- Submittal & SOW Support: Assist in developing Performance Work Statements (PWS) and Independent Cost Estimates based on observed field conditions.
- Risk & Change Management: Identify potential field risks (e.g., utility interference or site conditions) and maintain the change management register to document impacts on cost and schedule.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between project managers, and third-party contractors to facilitate efficient execution.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in Construction Management, Quality Assurance, or Field Engineering.
- High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field is highly preferred.
- Prior experience working on military installations or with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) / Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) is preferred.
- High proficiency in reading and interpreting technical design drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage work zones containing multiple trades and maintain a safe, organized job site.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 30 and USACE EM 385-1-1 safety manuals.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project and Excel; experience with construction photo-documentation software is a plus.
- Potential for up to 20% travel to regional project sites.
- Work safely and professionally while adhering to all regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, Federal regulations, etc.).
- Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as job duties require.
- This role requires significant time spent on active construction sites, including exposure to noise, dust, and varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to navigate uneven terrain, climb ladders/scaffolding, and walk extensively across large project sites.
- Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.
- Effectively communicate in the Business English language.
- Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.
