Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) Position Details
- Provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Provides patient hygiene, comfort measures, mobilization and transportation, and contributes to patient assessment.
- Participates in the care of adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. As experience dictates, the nursing assistant may also participate in the care of infants and pediatrics.
- Performs patient care including baths, oral hygiene, and comfort measures including backrubs, skin and hair care, dressing, turning and positioning.
- Assists with meals and oral fluids.
- Charts patient care given and patient data collected, according to guidelines.
- Cleans and restocks areas/equipment as designated.
What You Offer
- Hold certification as a nursing assistant in the state of Minnesota, along with CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous experience as a CNA preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to demonstrate appropriate level knowledge and skills of nursing practices and procedures.
Work Schedule
- Part-time, 36 hours per biweekly pay period
- Blocked schedule, repeats every 6 weeks; 12-hour shifts, 9:00am-9:30pm
- Includes every 3rd weekend and holidays that fall within the blocked schedule
Blocked Schedule Details (6-week rotation):
- Week 1 - Friday, Saturday
- Week 2 - Sunday
- Week 3 - No shifts
- Week 4 - Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 5 - Sunday
- Week 6 - Wednesday, Thursday
