Position Overview
The Donor Management and Support Team (DMaST), a specialized division of Perfusion Solution Inc. (PSI), is seeking highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to provide expert, on-site critical care management of organ donors.
This role focuses on optimizing donor physiology, performing advanced bedside procedures, and collaborating closely with Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) and hospital teams to maximize organ utilization and transplant outcomes.
DMaST APPs practice with a high degree of autonomy in dynamic ICU environments and play a critical role in improving transplant success.

Core Responsibilities
- Provide on-site ICU management of organ donors (primarily brain-dead donors)
- Perform comprehensive hemodynamic assessment and optimization
- Develop individualized donor management strategies, including:
- Volume management and diuresis
- Vasopressor, inotrope, and vasodilator titration
- Endocrine and metabolic support
- Collaborate with:
- OPO coordinators and leadership
- ICU teams and hospital staff
- Consulting physicians (critical care, cardiology, transplant)
- Provider-led ICU care
- 1:1 donor-to-provider focus
- High procedural autonomy
- Real-time multidisciplinary collaboration
- Focus on organ optimization and yield improvement

Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited:
- Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) program or
- Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Active and unrestricted license in applicable state(s)
- Board certification (ACNP or PA-C)
- Preferred: 3–5 years of critical care experience (CVICU, transplant, ECMO, or advanced heart failure)
- Central venous catheter placement
- Pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) catheter placement
- Dialysis catheter placement
- Arterial line placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Endotracheal intubation
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS)
- Ventilator management for donor optimization
- Familiarity with donor management and transplant physiology
