The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving sales, delivering excellent customer service, and overseeing daily store operations. This role focuses on personal and team sales, performance management, and maintaining brand standards while ensuring a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in achieving and exceeding store sales goals and KPIs
- Support with coaching and motivating sales associates
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally
- Lead by example in sales techniques, upselling, and product knowledge
- Help manage daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures, responding to emails, receiving shipments, promotion changes, and planning quarterly meetings
- Monitor and maintain visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and loss prevention efforts
- Accurate cash management, POS operations, and financial reporting tasks
- Step in as acting Store Manager when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); some college preferred
- 3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
- 1-3 years sales (not cashier) experience with a proven track record of meeting targets
- Excellent written & verbal communication with keen interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a competitive sales environment
- Open availability during all mall hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
