Performance Sports Center is seeking a certified and highly dependable Athletic Trainer to provide on field athletic training coverage, emergency response, injury evaluation, and athlete safety support across a growing multi location youth soccer organization and sports facility platform.

This position is focused primarily on on field athletic training coverage and athlete safety.

We are seeking a true Athletic Trainer who is comfortable working directly on the field and in training environments, responding to injuries and emergencies in real time, supporting return to play processes, and helping maintain a safe and professional environment for athletes, coaches, and families.

This role will support programs, teams, events, tournaments, and training sessions operated through Performance Sports Center and affiliated soccer club locations throughout Central New Jersey.

Position Overview

The Athletic Trainer will provide athletic training services and medical coverage for practices, games, camps, tournaments, and training sessions across multiple facilities and affiliated club locations.

The Athletic Trainer will practice within the parameters of their New Jersey Athletic Training license and will follow all Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics established by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and the Board of Certification (BOC).

These responsibilities reflect the current needs of Performance Sports Center and affiliated club operations and may evolve as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on field athletic training coverage for practices, games, tournaments, camps, and training sessions
  • Evaluate and respond to athletic injuries and medical situations in real time
  • Provide first response care and emergency injury management when necessary
  • Assess injuries and assist with return to play recommendations and protocols
  • Communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and medical professionals regarding injuries and athlete care
  • Maintain injury reports, treatment documentation, and incident records
  • Support athlete safety and emergency preparedness procedures across facilities and events
  • Assist with taping, stretching, recovery, and basic injury prevention support as needed
  • Coordinate with outside medical providers and healthcare professionals when appropriate
  • Help maintain a professional, safe, and organized training and competition environment
  • Ensure compliance with all state licensing requirements and athletic training best practices
  • Monitor and respond to weather, heat, hydration, and environmental safety concerns during events and training sessions
  • Support tournament and event medical preparedness and emergency response procedures
  • Ability to work independently and confidently in field based athletic environments

Schedule & Operational Commitment

  • Performance Sports Center and affiliated club programming operate primarily during afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
  • The Athletic Trainer must be comfortable working flexible schedules based on games, tournaments, practices, events, and training schedules across multiple locations.
  • Travel between facilities and affiliated club locations within the region may be required.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and valid driver’s license

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field required
  • Must hold current Board of Certification (BOC) certification
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of New Jersey
  • Strong knowledge of emergency response, injury evaluation, rehabilitation, and return to play protocols
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in fast paced sports environments
  • Comfortable working evenings and weekends during peak operational periods
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required

Preferred Background

Ideal candidates may have experience working within:

  • Youth soccer organizations
  • Club sports environments
  • High school athletics
  • Collegiate athletics
  • Multi field tournament environments
  • Sports facilities or academy environments

Experience providing direct field coverage and emergency response support for athletes is strongly preferred.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
