The ideal candidate will possess over seven years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrate strong analytical skills, and deliver precise and timely financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Management
Performance Software is engaged in the design of Real-Time Embedded Software and Hardware. This includes Avionics and Space Exploration applications such as Synthetic Vision Cockpit Displays, Flight Management System Guidance and Navigation, Platforms, and Datalink Applications. Our customers are both Commercial and Defense-related avionics and rocketry suppliers/manufacturers. We have been in business since 1998; we were awarded INC Magazine 5000 Fastest Growing Companies and Best Places to Work for multiple years. We have locations in Phoenix, AZ, New Orleans, LA, Grand Rapids, MI, Clearwater, FL, Bothell, WA, and Cedar Rapids, IA.

Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Management
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Maintain and analyze trial balance to ensure financial accuracy.
- Manage the company ERP system. Document business requirements and generate BI reports for the Leadership Team.
- Generate comprehensive financial statements and periodic reports.
- Analyze financial data to support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver detailed financial presentations for management reviews.
- Supervise the processing and accuracy of accounts payable transactions, including employee reimbursements.
- Support accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing.
- Coordinate closely with the A/P and A/R teams to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
- Ensure compliance with all state income, excise, and tax credit program requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed for complex filings and audits.
- Prepare documentation and coordinate efforts for internal and external audits.
- Act as a liaison between auditors and internal teams, ensuring smooth audit processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Proficient in accounting software (Intacct preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and strong experience with financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Salary range: $70,000-$92,000 DOE
- This position requires full-time on-site presence at our Phoenix, AZ office.
