We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Duties
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders using Fanuc or similar control systems.
- Program CNC machines utilizing G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to produce complex parts efficiently.
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments for quality control.
- Conduct machine setup, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal performance and adherence to tolerances.
- Execute manual machining operations when necessary using hand tools, lathes, grinders, and other machining tools.
- Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards and measurement techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols; operate forklifts and power tools as needed.
- Assist in tooling selection, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Machinist working with CNC machinery such as CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and CAD/CAM software like SolidWorks or similar platforms.
- Skilled in reading mechanical blueprints and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Mechanical knowledge of machining processes including metal machining, plastics injection molding support roles, grinding, welding, and assembly procedures.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and tolerances essential for precision machining.
- Experience with manufacturing environments emphasizing lean principles is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to machine operation, welding, forklift operation, and power tools is required.
