The ideal candidate will have a background in civil construction and a proven track record of successfully managing commercial and NCDOT Division mid-sized projects from start to finish. This role requires exceptional leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
Duties
- Lead and direct grading activities, including clearing, excavation, earthwork, storm drain, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
- Manage daily grading crew activities, providing training, direction, and support for efficient, safe production.
- Maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety protocols.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate people, equipment, and materials to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Communicate daily activities, needs, and issues with management to coordinate efforts.
- Oversee allocation and maintenance of equipment to ensure ideal usage and prevent downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of job quantities, timesheets, and daily management reports.
- Apply knowledge of grade checking and survey information to guide grading activities effectively.
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
Skills
- Ability to work safely and promote a safe work environment.
- Excellent team and communication skills
- Ability to problem solve and adjust to changing situations
- A valid driver's license is required
- 3 years experience with grade and pipe work
- Experience with Heavy Highway DOT, County, City, and commercial construction
- Ability to read, understand, and execute project plans
