Performance Boat Center is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Marine Service Writer to serve as the primary liaison between our customers and service department. This position is responsible for managing service requests, preparing orders, communicating with customers throughout the service process, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from check-in to delivery.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and accurately document service concerns and repair requests.
- Create and manage repair orders within our dealership management system.
- Coordinate scheduling of service work with technicians and service management.
- Communicate repair recommendations, estimates, and timelines to customers.
- Maintain regular communication with customers regarding service progress and updates.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy prior to customer delivery.
- Process warranty claims and manufacturer service documentation as required.
- Coordinate parts availability with the parts department.
- Ensure all labor, parts, and miscellaneous charges are properly documented.
- Assist with boat check-in, delivery, and customer orientation when necessary.
- Maintain accurate customer records and service history.
- Promote additional maintenance services, upgrades, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Support a positive and professional customer experience throughout the service process
Qualifications
- Previous marine, automotive, powersports, or service advisor experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of boats, marine systems, and marine engines preferred.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with computers and dealership management software.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
Preferred Experience
- Mercury Marine and Mercury Racing product knowledge.
- Warranty administration experience.
- Service writing or service advisor experience.
- Understanding of marine electrical, rigging, and mechanical systems.
- Experience using IDS (Integrated Dealer System)
