Positions Details

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with overtime available and occasional weekends
  • Pay: $28.00-$32.00 per hour DOE

Position Purpose

We value the safety of our associates! The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician keeps our associates safe by maintaining all equipment inside the warehouses/buildings and ensuring it meets industry standards and operates efficiently according to its specific tasks. The Electrical Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities. Performs general electrical and/or repairs of and various equipment on company premises. Conduct periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written- oral, diagram- or schedule form.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules- operating and maintenance instructions- and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions- percentages- area- circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Job Description

  • Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and troubleshoot/repair Trailers, Restraint Devices, Dock leveling ramps, Dock Doors.
  • Perform Other Facilities maintenance tasks such as painting drywall, minor plumbing, and lighting
  • Read and interpret blueprints and equipment manuals.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints, repair manuals- or parts catalogs- as necessary.
  • Work directly with production associates and management to problem-solve and correct production issues that will ensure maximum production efficiencies.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Investigates electrical and mechanical equipment failures and develops action plans to eliminate repetitive failures.
  • Using a Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) -Initiates purchase order for parts and machines and creates and documents hours worked on applicable work orders.
  • Weld- perform sheet metal work and employ basic shop floor skills (lathe- drill press grinder- and other metalworking tools).
  • Install- move- and relocate machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings.
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental policies- procedures and compliance programs.
  • Work toward achieving an injury free environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job- the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger- handle- or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop kneel- crouch- or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds- frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds- and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. The employee will be required to perform tasks while atop a Scissor lift or Boom lift on occasion. Employee must not have a fear of heights and must be comfortable in confined spaces. Employee will be required to gain access to the roof using a roof access ladder.

While performing the duties of this job- the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid, and cold conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high- precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

CM-ALL

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 1 year maintenance and repair in a warehouse environment
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in areas of Electrical Mechanical Diagnostics, Service and/or Repair.
  • 2 years preferred experience of electrical- mechanical- and hydraulic equipment i.e.: control panels- PLC's- pumps/valves- conveyor shaft- motor and gearbox bearing replacement- etc. in a warehouse environment
