Job Description
We Deliver the Goods:
Responsible for coordinating the overall scheduling and dispatching of delivery operations by communicating with truck drivers through computers, phones or two-way radios. Assign drivers to trucks and make sure that they leave and arrive on schedule. Available at all times to answer any questions from drivers, help them avoid traffic jams and keep them aware of inclement weather ahead. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Position Responsibilities:
Monitors and maintains daily driver updates to sales and systems
Monitors and maintains drivers’ daily paperwork
Updates and performs data entry into department and company database
Responds to incoming calls and emails timely and effectively
Reviews, researches and resolves discrepancies on weekly reports
Ensures compliance with DOT regulations and company policy
Responsible for Fuel billing, ordering and reporting
Supports the Routing Department with drivers’ paperwork and materials
Communicates with customers, vendors and company personnel in a positive and proactive manner
Reports all accidents per PFG policy and procedures
Has knowledge of warehouse distribution
Understands DOT regulations
Responsible for Delivery Food Safety temp probs and documentation
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
1-2 years dispatch and commercial driver experience or related area
6-12 months previous logistic/dispatch experience
Compensation
$22.00-$26.00/hour
