Position Details:
Responsible for working with a Category Manager in achieving sales and earned income (revenue) objectives. The Category Specialist will be responsible for developing relationships with suppliers to negotiate marketing and promotional programs. They will also work closely with the Category Manager for accuracy of data control and information flow within their categories. Primary responsibilities will include managing rebate tracking programs to resolve issues pertaining to collection of rebates and other incentives from suppliers. Additional responsibilities would include working with the field purchasing team to increase participation with strategic suppliers with conversion of nonstrategic vendor purchases, resolving issues related to vendor partners. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.
Job Responsibilities:
High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent related experience
1 - 3 Years
Strong attention to detail with good business acumen. High degree of organization along with ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Compensation
55,000 - 85,000 with bonus opportunity

Job Responsibilities:
- Has oversight responsibility for the National Supplier Agreement process in assigned categories. Manage communication and updates of agreement, price changes and general vendor announcements.
- Working closely with Category Managers of specific product lines to analyze product assortment, profitability and trends.
- Serve as a key partner and interface between Category Management and other functional areas for program and agreement set up including MDM & EDM.
- Analyze promotional item trends, maintain and update promotional documents with explanation of analysis.
- Assist Category Management Team with key vendor activities and functions. Support corporate product cutting process as assigned.
- Manage Master Vendor Document updates, and department SharePoint site. Create, analyze and publish commodity report.
- Serve as a contact between corporate Category Management Team and Earned Income Team. Manage the Earned Income proofing, handle accounting related inquires, provide customer contract support and address any quality support issues/requests.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
