Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Area Manager at Performance Foodservice. The Area Manager will oversee sales performance, customer relationships, and operational execution within an assigned territory, ensuring alignment with company goals and service standards. Daily responsibilities include managing and coaching a field-based sales team, monitoring sales pipelines, forecasting revenue, and identifying new business opportunities. The role involves building strong relationships with key accounts, collaborating with cross-functional teams (operations, finance, marketing, and supply chain), and resolving issues related to product availability, service, or pricing. The Area Manager will also analyze market trends, track competitors, and implement territory strategies that support customer satisfaction, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in territory or area management, preferably in foodservice, distribution, or related B2B environments.
- Strong skills in sales leadership, including team coaching, performance management, and goal setting.
- Ability to build and maintain customer relationships, negotiate agreements, and address issues with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Comfort with data analysis, forecasting, and use of CRM or sales tracking tools to inform decisions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritize multiple demands, and manage time effectively.
- Knowledge of foodservice operations, supply chain, or distribution logistics is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
