Project Technical Writer - SOC 1 and SOC 2

Job Overview
We are seeking a Technical Writer for a 6-month (potential to extend) engagement to support the development and refinement of policies and procedures aligned with SOC 1 & SOC 2 requirements. This role will focus on documenting existing processes, improving consistency, and supporting overall audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Document and refine policies, procedures, and control narratives aligned with SOC 1 & SOC 2 standards
• Partner with IT, Security, Operations, and Compliance teams to gather and validate process details
• Translate existing processes into clear, structured, and audit-ready documentation
• Identify gaps or inconsistencies and work with stakeholders to resolve them
• Ensure documentation is consistent, well-organized, and uses clear, testable language
• Follow established templates and documentation standards

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in technical writing, compliance, IT audit, or controls documentation
• Exposure to SOC 1 and/or SOC 2 environments
• Experience working with cross-functional teams to gather and document processes
• Strong writing and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines in a project-based environment

Nice to Have

• Background in GRC, IT audit, or compliance
• Experience supporting audits or working within regulated environments
• Familiarity with process mapping or documentation tools

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
