Job Description
PCI is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Insulation Estimator for its PCI San Antonio 116 operations based in San Antonio, TX.
Job Responsibilities Include
- Perform quantitative takeoffs on construction projects
- Establish labor productivities for estimate
- Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing
- Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-performing group
- Gain understanding of market conditions and competitive approach through engaging customer feedback on proposal scope clarifications and price.
- Understanding backlog, level or risk for work, and other factors for establishing margin percentages to mitigate risk.
- Involvement in internal bid reviews with supervisors and project teams
- Participate in customer alignment objectives by creating and maintaining positive customer relationships.
- Utilize wage and benefit schedules
- Hand-off secured projects to the Operations team
- Assist in other duties as assigned such as change orders depending on the project(s)
- Support other members of the Estimating team for product line collaboration
Basic Requirements
- Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
- Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
- Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff, BuzzBID, Quickbid, and/or MIKE.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office, BlueBeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
- At least 2-4 years of experience estimating construction projects is preferred
- Experience with estimating/project management/managing HVAC pipe and duct insulation scopes of construction is preferred
- Local to San Antonio metro area
