Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial painting projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, and scope of work.
- Utilize estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid to develop accurate pricing models and detailed bid proposals.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, material pricing, and labor costs to ensure precise estimates.
- Collaborate closely with the project manager, owner, and other team members to review project requirements and refine estimates accordingly.
- Monitor project costs throughout the bidding process and provide recommendations for cost control strategies.
- Assist in contract review and support project management team during project execution to ensure adherence to budgets.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (ideally 3-5 years minimum) in construction estimating within commercial projects, with a strong understanding of construction processes and site operations. Experience with painting mandatory
- Proficiency in estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid required
- Solid knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, cost control techniques, and pricing strategies.
- Hands-on experience with construction site activities, providing insight into realistic cost assessments.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for clear documentation and collaboration across teams.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Construction site experience that enhances understanding of on-the-ground realities affecting estimates.
