Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Associate Dentist to join our dynamic dental practice in Erie. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality patient care and will possess a strong foundation in various dental procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, focusing on both general dentistry and specialized areas such as pediatrics.
Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive oral exams to assess the health of teeth, gums, and overall oral hygiene.
- Discuss treatment options with patients, answer questions, and provide advice on preventative care.
- Develop treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnostic findings.
- Provide routine cleanings and preventive care (e.g., fluoride treatments, sealants).
- Perform fillings, crowns, bridges, and inlays to restore damaged or decayed teeth.
- Treat root canals and perform extractions when necessary.
- Use X-rays and other diagnostic tools to assess dental health.
- Provide cosmetic treatments such as whitening, bonding, and veneers to improve the appearance of teeth.
- Perform oral surgeries such as extractions of problematic teeth, including impacted wisdom teeth.
- Handle minor soft tissue surgeries and wound healing within the oral cavity.
- Educate patients about the importance of oral hygiene and preventive dental care.
Must also have any experience with or knowledge of (through any completed university-level coursework, seminars, workshops, or real-world, hands-on experience) each of the following:
- Providing dental care for patients with physical and intellectual disabilities and Medical complexities, including behavioral and pharmacological management of treatment/dental procedures (i.e., exams, radiographs, cleanings, treatment planning, fillings, and extractions)
- Various degrees of modifications to care, including transfer facilitation, behavioral or pharmacological management (i.e., oral premedication or nitrous oxide); and
- Communicating with patients PCPs for comprehensive management and treatment while utilizing general anesthesia.
Qualifications:
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school.
- Active dental license to practice in Pennsylvania.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to dental care.
