Job Summary:
The Event Sales Manager (ESM) is the chief contact for all customer inquiries and requests about hosting an event at Perfect Game (PG), consulting with clients about every detail of an event to ensure that it runs smoothly, prospecting new sales, and managing revenue documentation. The ESM will oversee events and be responsible for a very high-quality guest experience. While various internal performance measures will be graded, the over-arching goal is to deliver an event experience unmatched by any other entertainment center in the Metro Detroit area.
Compensation:
The ESM role is compensated in 2 ways: A base pay of $26.50 per hour ($55,000 annually) plus a variable commission based on revenue generated from selling events. The commission structure is as follows:
- 0 to 250,000 in revenue: 2% commission
- 250,001 to 500,000 in revenue: 4% commission
- 500,001 to $1,000,000 in revenue: 8% commission
- Over 1,000,001 in revenue: 10% commission

Performance Standards:
The ESM will:
- Generate group sales and achieve annual sales goals for corporate and team building events, fundraisers, & other social events for groups averaging 25 guests or more.
- Respond to all inbound event inquiries and turn them into booked events. Act as the primary resource for selling events at Perfect Game.
- Prospect new event sales opportunities via cold calling both in person and over the telephone.
- Be empowered to maintain PG’s guest experience philosophy and standards.
- Be aware of the unique needs of the various events you’ll help plan – from birthday parties to corporate events to other social gatherings.
- Maintain records of event inquiries in Tripleseat; enter and maintain guest info, keep notes of completed or lost events, and be the events knowledge center by providing event details to the rest of the PG management and front-line team.
- Follow all company polices as outlined in the employee handbook and all training received.
- Meet all uniform, appearance, and grooming standards as specified in the employee handbook.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree with a business or hospitality major is preferred; at a minimum a High School Diploma and three to five years event sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work our event sales office during hours when the business is closed to the public. The Event Sales Manager must be a people person, but also must be comfortable working alone.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
