Duties
- Perform thorough surface preparation including sanding, masking, and cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, and airless spray guns to execute precise sanding, buffing, and painting tasks
- Apply automotive paints and coatings using conventional spraying methods, ensuring smooth, even coverage
- Mask surfaces accurately with specialized materials to protect areas not intended for painting
- Conduct auto body repairs such as dent removal, panel alignment, and minor welding to prepare vehicles for painting
- Assist with auto glass replacement and detailing tasks as needed to support overall vehicle restoration
- Follow safety protocols by utilizing respiratory protection and proper handling of paints and chemicals
Requirements
- Prior dealership or auto body shop experience highly preferred; familiarity with automotive surface preparation is essential
- Knowledge of welding, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance enhances your ability to perform comprehensive prep work
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, grinders, sanders, buffing equipment, and spray guns required for various prep tasks
- Experience with auto restoration processes including auto painting, buffing, detailing, and surface finishing techniques
- Strong understanding of automotive surface preparation standards and the use of masking materials for paint protection
- Ability to lift heavy parts safely and perform physical tasks throughout the workday in a fast-paced environment
