Position
Associate Developer

Description
At Peregrine Energy, the Associate Developer will help originate, advance, and execute utility-scale battery energy storage
system (BESS) and other grid-critical energy projects from early-stage development through commercial operation. This role
is designed for a high-capacity professional who can operate effectively in a fast-paced, demanding, and highly competitive
development environment.

The Associate Developer will work across the full project lifecycle, including site control, interconnection, permitting,
commercial support, preliminary engineering coordination, cross-functional diligence, and milestone execution. Projects are
expected to span multiple U.S. power markets and jurisdictions, requiring strong project management discipline, sound
judgment, and the ability to drive progress with incomplete information.

The successful candidate will be energized by building critical energy infrastructure, strengthening grid reliability, and
advancing utility-scale storage projects that support growing U.S. power demand. This individual must be highly organized,
detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable working with internal subject matter experts, external counterparties,
landowners, consultants, utilities, and regulatory stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities
Project Management and Development:

 Support the advancement of utility-scale BESS and grid-critical energy development projects from origination
through notice to proceed, commercial operation, and project handoff, as applicable.

 Prepare project materials, analyses, and recommendations for internal investment and stage-gate approvals,
including Site Selection teams and other internal decision forums.

 Partner with the Land team to support site selection, landowner outreach, due diligence, and execution of real
estate agreements required to secure and maintain project site control.

 Coordinate with the Transmission and Interconnection team to support queue strategy, interconnection application
submittals, utility coordination, study management, and milestone compliance.

 Advance projects through environmental review, local permitting, and state-level approval processes in
coordination with internal Peregrine teams and outside consultants.

 Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction teams to support project design development, site
layout optimization, constructability considerations, equipment strategy, and long-lead procurement planning.

 Work cross-functionally with the Finance team to provide, validate, and update project inputs used in underwriting,
valuation, capital planning, and investment decision-making.

 Maintain project schedules, risk registers, action logs, and development budgets; identify critical path risks early
and escalate issues with recommended mitigation strategies.

 Support commercial readiness by ensuring development deliverables are sequenced appropriately for origination,
financing, construction, and execution needs.

 Contribute to continuous improvement of internal development processes, tools, templates, and reporting
disciplines.

Power Marketing & Support for Structured Offtake:

 Work closely with Market Analytics and Origination teams to evaluate market opportunities, customer demand, and
revenue considerations that inform development strategy and project prioritization.

 Support the preparation of project-specific commercial materials and pricing inputs for bilateral opportunities,
Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and structured offtake processes.

 Assist in the evaluation, execution, and negotiation support of long-term structured transactions with wholesale,
utility, C&I, municipal, cooperative, and retail counterparties.

 Conduct research on customer energy procurement strategies, decarbonization goals, integrated resource
planning, and market needs to help shape Peregrine’s commercial approach.

 Help coordinate internal support teams through the sales and contracting process to enable timely, accurate, and
competitive responses.

 Establish and maintain professional relationships with utilities, customers, consultants, and other external
stakeholders relevant to project commercialization.

Required Skills/Experience

 1-3 years of experience in utility-scale energy, battery storage, power markets, infrastructure development, project
management, or a related field.

 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Environmental Studies, Business, Real Estate, Planning, or
a related discipline.

 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and drive execution across internal and
external stakeholders.

 Foundational understanding of utility-scale project development, including some combination of site control,
interconnection, permitting, engineering coordination, commercial strategy, or project finance.

 Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex issues into clear
recommendations.

 Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities; comfort working with project trackers, data rooms, schedules, and
financial or commercial support materials.

 Ability to make sound decisions with incomplete information, adapt quickly, and learn new subject matter in a fast-
moving environment.

 Willingness to travel as needed across the United States and Canada.

Succeeding in this role will require:

 Strong ownership mentality and follow-through.
 High attention to detail without losing sight of critical path priorities.
 Ability to operate with urgency while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
 Comfort with ambiguity, shifting priorities, and aggressive development timelines.
 Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach across technical, commercial, and corporate functions.
 Commercial judgment and an understanding of how development decisions affect value creation.
 Commitment to building critical U.S. energy infrastructure in a high-performance team environment.
 Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% in any given year
