Summary
The primary function of this position is to make adjustments to Dapec lines in order to meet quality cut specifications and maintain an acceptable level of downtime.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for adjustment to equipment to meet quality cuts specifications.
- To unjammed machines when necessary. Overall purpose is to keep production running at all times.
- To remain in this position for at least 1 year before considering going to maintenance.
- To set up Depec area before start-up
- To keep downtime to a minimum level
- Be able to work Saturday and Sunday when needed.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.
Experience Requirements
At least 6 months worth of poultry experience and the ability to become a certified dapec operator within 60 days from being placed in position.
Experience Preferred
Experience in poultry processing/manufacturing environment preferred.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
When in a plant environment:
- Ability to tolerate exposure to wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
- Ability to stand for an extended period and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs by reaching, bending, and pushing boxes.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection as required.
- May work in an environment with varying temperatures between 28 degrees and 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May handle product varying in temperatures between 25 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
- May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.
- Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.
