Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our national intelligence program in Northern Virginia that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in network load balancing and traffic management engineering on large scale and complex network systems.
Responsibilities :
- Design, plan and implement network load balancing, traffic management, and communications systems.
- Continuously monitor data flows and implement strategies for traffic shaping and load balancing to proactively take action to identify and mitigate performance and security threats.
- Utilize network traffic management best practices and protocols to protect sensitive data, ensure compliance with regulatory and client standards, and maintain the overall integrity of the program's network infrastructure.
- Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
- Conduct cost / benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conduct testing of network design.
- Monitor network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
- Plan implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
- Advise network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Develop, implement and maintain network management processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, installation configuration, and user guidelines / instructions documentation.
- Travel : Travel may be required within the National Capital Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements
- Position is Contingent on Contract Award

Target Salary Range
104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
